The winds dropped on Wednesday afternoon but in their place there has been a fair bit of cloud and rain. It was not particularly warm this morning and there weren’t many people about when I walked along to buy Crabs for our lunch. However, the forecast for this afternoon promises sun. The weather early Thursday evening was pleasant and we enjoyed a walk up to Northrepps. We ate at the Foundry Arms which was very busy with locals who had stopped off after work and diners in both the restaurant and the bar. After having gone through a bad spell it is good to see, that under the management of Sarah and Jason and with Sandra in the kitchens, the pub is going from strength to strength. We walked back down Madams Lane at twilight accompanied by the birds in full song and an almost full moon peering through the thin cloud cover.

I have mentioned a couple of times about the ‘phantom bottle dumper’ who has deposited piles of drink bottles on a Saturday evening. Deposits have been to the side of the toilet block on the car park in Pauls Lane. Such an inconsiderate act and one which, according to the sign posted by NNDC on the charity clothes bin, could cost the ‘phantom’ £50,000. I have put a photo of the poster here which provides the phone number (01263 516085) to call if anyone witnesses the ‘phantom’ at work. Of course there is another way of catching the culprit; by tracing who is selling the particular mix of drinks which includes cheap spirits. The posters indicate that NNDC are on the case.

£50,000 Fine!
