Thursday 31st August 2017 - Quiet Again, Car Boot Bargains and Eating Retro

The village is quiet once again, following the Bank Holiday Weekend holiday weekend. The weather was still good on Tuesday when Peter started repair work on the workshop window, replacing rotten wood with sections of new timber. He did say that maybe it should be replaced with a new UPVC window but then added he was enjoying making it good so it would last a few more years. I have given our bay tree a hard cut back in preparation for the new fencing in October. It was getting tall and big round too but now, there should be plenty of room for the fencers. There is more cutting back to be done and I will resume once our garden waste bin has been emptied at the end of the week.

Unfortunately Peter was not able to make any further progress on Wednesday; shortly after we returned from the beach with Barney in the morning, it started raining, continuing through the day. It was chilly too and later in the afternoon, we both decided the time had come to turn on the central heating to boost the temperature a degree to so. It was definitely grey and miserable but on the plus side, being indoors provided me with the opportunity to catch up on a few emails.
