Overstrand Life - Janet's Diaries

January 1st - 15th 2012

Tuesday 3rd January - Re-Cap on 2011, Second Warmest Year and into 2012

What better way to start 2012 than with a short re-cap over the past year. So starting with January; Michael Maher took over the village stores. A section of the store was set aside for the Post Office which transferred in February. We are extremely lucky to have both these facilities in the village.

In March we saw an abundance of spring flowers and in April temperatures soared into the high twenties. The good weather continued into May and with little rainfall, farmers were concerned for the viability of their crops. The Overstrand Evening WI held a Guided Walks Day in June; with coverage of the event on BBC Radio Norfolk’s Treasure Quest. Later in the month I was invited to the BBC studios in Norwich for an unscripted interview about my website and life in general in the village.
