My Diaries
January - June 2011
As June 2011 came to an end, I celebrated writing Janet’s Diaries
for a complete year. I admit at times I have sat,
hands poised above the keyboard and thought to myself
‘These have been a quiet few days – what can I write?’
But it is on these days I surprise myself and produce a fairly
lengthy entry, proving it has not been quiet at all.
Over the year, writing Janet’s Diaries has made
me far more aware of life around me; this is not just
restricted to events etc. in the village.
It has encompassed; watching for the first snowdrop to push
its way up along the footpath borders;
looking and listening for the first skeins of pink footed geese;
walking along the beach and watching the sun rise through low lying clouds. I never fail to appreciate these natural
continuing occurrences; they are a joy to observe.
