Overstrand Life - Janet's Diaries

My Diaries

July - December 2012 What a strange year so far – the weather I mean! With a mild winter, snow in early February was a sharp reminder; we were not, as they say, ‘out of the woods’. This was followed later in the month with temperatures up to 18°C and from then on there was a definite feeling of spring. After a couple of years of not particularly memorable summers, we wondered if 2012 would be a scorcher. However, since the beginning of April hardly a day has passed when it has not rained. We have been lucky here in North Norfolk; compared to other parts of the country, who have suffered flooding etc. It has to be said some days have been downright depressing but on sunny days when we are out in the garden or walking Barney our dog, our hearts have been truly lifted. I hope with the impending school holidays that we benefit from longer periods of settled warm weather. I am keeping my fingers crossed! Janet, July 2012
