I don’t think I have ever or will ever see a General Election like last Thursdays, that gave such unexpected results. I don’t believe anyone could have predicted the outcome. The Conservatives have been returned to govern the country for a further five years under the leadership of David Cameron but what is so extraordinary is that following the election; the party leaders for Labour (Ed Miliband), UKIP (Nigel Farage) and Liberal Democrats (Nick Clegg) all resigned, SNP gained an unsurpassed number of seats and the Liberal Democrat’s losses can best be described as a tragedy for the party. As well as the voting for MP’s there was also the local District Councillors election too. Over the past weeks campaign material from prospective MP’s and Councillors has been coming through our letterbox. It was interesting that we received nothing from either the Green Party or UKIP parliamentary candidates and again nothing from the Green Party as well as the Labour District Councillor candidates. This is pretty pathetic on their behalf. I have listed below the results which show that Norman Lamb will continue to represent North Norfolk in Parliament and Angie Fitch-Tillett was re-elected as District Councillor for NNDC:-
