Overstrand Open Gardens & Flower Pot Sculpture Trail 19th June 2016

A successful and very busy day with an estimated 600 visitors exploring the twelve gardens and following the Flowerpot Sculpture Trail around the Village.

The Overstrand Together Steering Group would like to pass on their sincere thanks to all those who opened their gardens and to pass on the many congratulations that we received from visitors for the high standard and rich variety of the gardens that were open.

The flowerpot sculpture trail certainly added to the Open Gardens event and our thanks and congratulations to those of you who created such clever and imaginative sculptures.

The event raised £990.65 through the sale of maps and Cream Teas from the Pavilion at Overstrand Sports Ground.
The very kind generosity of Joanne & Neil Allsop who donated all of their refreshment and cake sales to OT
brings the grand total to £1,177.00 before expenses.

Overstrand Street Party on 15th May 2016 in Celebration of HRH Queen Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday

Overstrand Together and the Overstrand Parish Council joined together to organise the street party.
The event was free and open to all villagers. The party was opened by our MP Norman Lamb who cut the official cake.
Norman Lamb commented on Overstrand together being a superb group; a model that could be copied by other communities.
He also mentioned that it was good to see the two local organisations (Overstrand Together and the Parish Council) working together.

Fun Dog Show 2nd May 2016

Dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their owners to the second Overstrand Together Fun Dog Show held at the Sea Marge Hotel.
The cooler weather and threat of rain did little to deter visitors to the event with class entries equally as well supported as last year.
Judge Councillor Angie Fitch-Tillet was impressed with the entry saying, “I really enjoy judging these fun events
I get to see some fine animals and meet a lot of like minded dog lovers, it’s a super day”.
The event is organised by Overstrand Together with Mickey Sewell heading up the organising team. A special thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and the ladies of the village for baking cakes for the cake stall.
