Tuesday 8th September 2015 - Parish Council Meeting, High Tides, Family Visit and Fungi

While family have been staying with us, I have taken a break from my Diaries. It’s now time to catch up with what has been happening over the past week.

County Councillor, Wyndham Northam was at the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday evening. In his report he told those present that the County Council’s funding was to be decreased by £146 million for the forthcoming year. He then went on to explain that further work on the outer ring road round Norwich was set to go ahead. So far only the south section has been completed. The north section will be at the expense of housing which will lose £10million from its budget in favour of the road. I personally feel this is a bad decision on behalf of the County Council and that they should not syphon £10million away from housing. There was some discussion between our District Councillor, Angie Fitch-Tillet and a village resident over the repairs to the beach access, behind the revetments, at the west end of the promenade. The dialogue proved to be quite unnecessary and time was wasted simply because NNDC had not informed both parties that the work had been completed the previous day.
